Happy Mothers' Day everyone! :) Hope you spent today with your mom and went out to do something fun with your parents because I sure didn't. Why? Well, let me list out the reasons...
1) Yesterday, I woke up for Math tuition in the morning. When I got back home, I had less than 2 hours to start on my revision/homework, get dressed, pack and eat lunch then I had to take off for school. I spent my whole afternoon rehearsing for the production and at around 4pm, I finally got a break and ate an early dinner with the rest of the cast. At the same time, I had to do my make-up and the make-up artist did this really cool thing with my eyes so they looked nice... ;) So around 7pm, we got to the Tsuen Wan Town Hall's backstage for stand-by.
At around 9pm, it was our cue to perform our drama! It was brilliant... But at the last scene, someone in the Audio Visual Team messed up and pressed the button to close the curtain. Now, the curtain is very heavy and there's a metal chain at the bottom of the fabric so if you're caught under it, you're literally dead. And you don't want to be outside of the curtain because you'd look like an idiot standing there with the rest of the cast behind the curtain. So I had to scramble towards downstage when I was supposed to be a corpse and that was absolutely ridiculous. Then someone invited our chairlady to say few words to the audience but right before she came out, the curtain closed. So it was majorly embarrassing and the whole evening was a total WRECK.
The AV Team was not supposed to close the curtain and dim the lights when there were still actors in the upstage area (namely, me) or else something horrible would happen (and I'm not just talking about getting caught outside the curtain while everyone was behind it). The person should not have invited our chairlady to say a few words because the lights were dimming already and the curtain was closing fast so it ended up confusing everyone.
So at the end, the whole DGS Drama Ensemble were scolded in public in the foyer of the Town Hall. It was a total cakewalk, I tell you. It was so stupid. In the end, we were dismissed at 10pm and I finally reached home at 11.30pm. And I needed to follow up on a questionnaire/report concerning the evening+shower and get ready for bed so I could only sleep at 2am. Since I slept at 2am and my energy was all used up for the rehearsals, I woke up at 11.30am this morning.
2) Because I woke up so late this morning and spent my whole Saturday rehearsing, I had a lot of work to catch up on so my parents just went out to celebrate Mothers' Day without me. Despite working for the whole afternoon, I doubt I can even go out for dinner tonight... Man, why are there so many tests?
3) And because I spent the whole week at school rehearsing for the performance, I didn't have time to even get my mom anything. Except for a small box of fake flowers that the volunteer workers were passing out for free at the bus stop on Saturday.
4) I would rather my mom and dad spend some alone time today because they've been falling out a couple days ago. My mom's sleeping in my room on my couch lately and she was poking around my dad's iPhone and accusing him of cheating while he was DRIVING. Mother, I'm afraid I don't want to get injured in a car crash at 11pm at the Cross Harbor Tunnel on Saturday night so can you please leave this for tomorrow morning.
Yeah, so that's why the chain reaction of events made me lose my 2012 Mothers' Day.
And the only two good news are...
1) Backstage, me and a few other girls were doing this Logos Quiz on an iPhone. The quiz had pictures of logos that had the names erased and we had to guess what brand they were. Nikita could guess the miscellaneous logos like 'Kelloggs' and 'Dunkin Donuts' while I worked out the clothing and car brands. It actually surprised me quite a lot that the other girls (most of them older than I was) couldn't recognize Swatch, Tissot or Pantene. I mean, I don't even use Pantene. And who knew they couldn't distinguish the logos of Audi, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz and Lamborghini? Don't we see 'em everyday? I'm pretty proud of my almost-photographic memory now. :)
And now I'm thinking about cars. I'd like a Volkswagen, Cheyenne or a Mercedes since the cars are quite classy and elegant. Nothing too flashy, though. But I would like it to have some sort of contemporary twist in the interior design (like the Porsche interior leathers thingy) and maybe have a vending machine in the car. (What? Traffic jams make me hungry.) And I really do like the colors of BMWs.
But then I'd really like a Lambo's engine. And I'd like the Rolls Royce winged lion thing on the hood. It's pretty... At the same time, I really like the curves of the Ferrari designs. No, really. The Ferrari curves are seriously sweet. I've seen the black Ferrari in the South Horizons carpark and everytime I pass by, I need to look at the curves...
On top of all of that, I'd like the technology of a Mazda because it's automatic sensor knows when to turn on the windshield wipers and has a radar for easier parking. Plus, the headlights of a Mazda is more...preferable for me.
(Okay...where did all these info come from...?)
2) I had a good chat with Ophelia on FB the other day and the talk inspired me for James/Lily's first date together. I finished brainstorming, working out the details and writing the three and a half pages in half an hour. There's nothing better than a spark to create a breakthough in your writing. All I need to do is to write about Petunia's wedding, the trip to Miami/Hawaii/Maldives and some Potter Manor scenes. I'm really hyped about the Potter Manor scenes because it's pretty much my first attempt at architecture and magical buildings stuff. Ah...the things I can make happen at the famous Potter Manor. (I already have a favorite room in there, it's the attic and it beautiful.) Okay, I'd better shut up before I tell you anymore spoilers.
Over and out,
Rachelle
